For over four decades, NFI has effectively provided individual support services to adults with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and mental health needs, helping them develop independent living and community skills in supported residential settings of their own choosing. NFI has developed a flexible program that provides services tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences, based on the principles of empowerment, choice, building from strengths, and honoring dignity.
There are 2 main components to this program, providing both direct and indirect supports. Residential Support provides services on a long-term basis to individuals who live in their own or shared apartments. Staffing levels are flexible according to individual. The second component is Intensive Case Management, which serves individuals by providing assessments, treatment planning, advocacy and various other interventions. These services have been very effective with individuals who have had less success in more traditional service settings.
In addition to these services we also provide adult companionship, individual support, homemaking, access to health and medical services, transportation, and surrogacy for PCA needs.
