Northeast Diversion

Northeast DiversionNortheast Diversion in Haverhill, MA provides individualized and comprehensive residential services to male and female youth age 12-18 and their families.  Youth referred to the program are in need of temporary out-of-home placement to address a range of emotional and behavioral issues.  The program offers 24 hour staffing that provides support and supervision.  Comprehensive clinical services include treatment planning, life skills training, individual/group/family therapy and access to social and recreational resources in the community.

The highly structured milieu provides a safe and predictable context in which youth can stabilize behaviors, progress in treatment and develop new skills.  Staff members serve as teachers and coaches, developing practical supports and interventions for youth that are readily transferable to the home environment and can be easily understood and taught to families.  While the program specializes in family reunification, it also works with youth who transfer to foster care or independent living.  For youth who do not have reunification as a goal, the program focuses on cultivating family involvement whenever possible and establishing meaningful lifelong connections to other caring adults who can guide them into adulthood.
