Division Director - Intensive Residential Services
Mr. Lary serves as the Division Director of Intensive Residential Treatment Programs for NFI MA. He received a BA in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts and a MSW from Boston College with a concentration in child welfare. With thirty years in the mental health field, his experience spans nearly all aspects of residential operations from group homes, residential treatment programs, secure DYS treatment and directing DMH IRTPs. He promotes a hands-on leadership style with a focus on teamwork and humor. Mr. Lary’s achievements include: the first Massachusetts DMH program to completely eliminate a point and level system, being selected as the pilot site for the ARC (Attachment, Regulation and Competency) clinical model, a Massachusetts Commissioner’s Award for significant restraint reduction, and a SAMSHA recognition award for extraordinary success in reducing restraints. Mr. Lary was also awarded the Department of Mental Health’s Deborah A. Janssens 2025 award for Outstanding Leadership and Compassionate Care to Massachusetts Youth and Families.
