NFI’s Old Ferry residence in Haverhill, MA is a 24/7 group home serving four adults with acquired brain injury (ABI) and adults who might otherwise require care in a nursing home or long-stay hospital. Individuals are typically referred to the program after spending time in long-term care facilities. The program offers residents a full range of services including assistance with activities of daily living, recreational opportunities, individual support, transportation, and coordination of medical needs and services. The residence has been carefully designed with an open floor plan, attractive communal and private living areas, and all adaptive equipment necessary to support those with physical challenges. The goal of the program is to enable adults to live in a less restrictive setting, to offer the maximum level of independence, and to fully engage in community life.
